The duties of the Fayetteville Police Department are to protect life and property and to assist the public. These are accomplished by patrolling neighborhoods, business areas, local schools, and roadways. Our officers are trained in many areas which aid in accomplishing these duties.

The Fayetteville Police Department assists the community by providing traffic control and security for the many events hosted within our city. We interact with event staff and work to provide a safe environment for all participants and guests.

We provide outside training for organizations such as schools, clubs, churches, businesses ect. We have officers who are trained in areas such as business security and safety for employees, security for churches, school safety and active shooter training, safe driving, drug awareness, pedestrian safety and many other areas.

Our officers conduct routine walking patrols in various neighborhoods, through our business area on the town square and through our schools. This walking patrol helps officers make a more personal contact with citizens and helps the public become more familiar with who our officers are. We believe the community can be better served through personal contact with officers.
